Student Engagement and Campus Life

SECL is excited to announce GobblerFair!

Join us January 31, 2020 from 3 - 6 p.m. in Squires Student Center to explore many of the student organizations at Virginia Tech!

Student Engagement and Campus Life's first GobblerNights of the new school year helped students kick-off the Fall semester with carnival and fair themed activities, both inside and outside of Squires Student Center. GobblerNights is a free late night series designed to provide fun, entertaining, and engaging activities to meet the needs of VT Students and an alternative to going to parties with alcohol. Student Engagement and Campus Life complements the academic experience by building communities, promoting holistic education, and cultivating environments through leadership, innovation, and service.

Our Vision

To be a national leader in cultivating innovative environments and communities in order to provide transformative experiences for all Hokies.

Our Core Values

We believe in teamwork, integrity, development, equity, and being student-centered.

Johnston Student Center and Graduate Life Center: If campus is closed, Johnston Student Center and the Graduate Life Center will be closed. If campus is on a delayed opening, the buildings will open 15 minutes prior to the beginning of classes.

Squires Student Center: If campus is closed, Squires will maintain an operating schedule of 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. as long as conditions are safe for staffing purposes. On delayed openings, Squires will open one hour prior to classes starting or by 9 a.m. We closely monitor storms and conditions on the road. During the evening and weekends if inclement weather causes Blacksburg Transit to stop operations, Squires may close early and cancel evening events for the safety of students and visitors as well as our student and professional staff.
