Congratulations to this month’s organization of the month, Relay for Life!

Relay for Life is the student organizations responsible for planning the nation’s largest collegiate Relay for Life event each spring. Recently, Relay for Life participated in a trifecta competition with UVA and JMU which they won by signing up 1500 participants for this year’s event, happening on April 20, 2020 on the Drillfield. Shout out to Liam Sment, the Greek Engagement Chair for their work getting fraternities and sororities involved with Relay for Life!

Student Budget Board Updates

Today (November 1) is the last day to apply for funds for an event, program, conference, competition, and/or expenditure that will occur between December 1st and February 1st.

  • If you apply after today for an event within the previously stated timeframe, it will be automatically denied, with no exceptions made!

Today is also the last day to apply and receive an early decision for a request occurring after February. 1st.

  • If you do not want an early decision, you may continue to submit requests for events occurring after February 1 according to the 30/60 day deadlines.
  • Decisions will be handed out in the Spring Semester.

Please remember that the Board will NOT fund expenses that have already been incurred! You must wait until you have received approval to incur any expenses.

You must take the Funding Workshop once per academic year, as there is a new workshop each August! If you do not complete the workshop prior to requesting funds, your request will be automatically denied.

Any questions can be directed to or the Chair, Allison Fegler, at Information about applying, including Policy and Procedure, can be found here.

Final Fall Leadership Series

Thanks to everyone who has attended a Fall Leadership Series session so far this semester. If you haven’t had the chance to do so yet, we have one final opportunity. Check out our upcoming Bystander Workshop session in partnership with the Women’s Center at Virginia Tech on Wednesday, November 13th from 6-7 pm in The Source.

RSVP here to secure your spot:

Reminder: If you attend three Fall Leadership Series sessions, your organization will secure a guaranteed spot at the Gobblerfair. Each session you attend counts as an additional entrance into the lottery for a Gobblerfair table if you don’t make it to three sessions.
